Banasura and his wife Banamati perform the wedding rituals for Okha and Aniruddha, washing the groom's feet and offering four auspicious gifts: gold, cows, elephants, and the bride herself. Banamati serves sweet rice pudding, the couple bathes in milk, and auspicious women bless Okha as a fortunate bride before the marriage is completed with a mountain of gold coins as gift.

  1. 1 બાણાસુર પખાળે ચરણ, શોભા ઘણેરી રે; સાથ બાણમતી શુભ્ર વર્ણ, શોભા ઘણેરી રે.
  2. 2 ત્યાં તો પહેલું મંગળ વરતાય, શોભા ઘણેરી રે; પહેલે મંગળ સોનાનાં દાન અપાય, શોભા.
  3. 3 દાન લે છે કૃષ્ણનો સંતાન, શોભા; ત્યાં તો બીજું મંગળ વરતાય, શોભા.
  4. 4 બીજે મંગળ ઘેનુનાં દાન અપાય, શોભા; ત્યાં તો ત્રીજું મંગળ વરતાય, શોભા.
  5. 5 ત્રીજે મંગળ હસ્તીનાં દાન અપાય, શોભા; દાન લે છે કૃષ્ણનો સંતાન, શોભા.
  6. 6 ત્યાં તો ચોથું મંગળ વરતાય, શોભા; ચોથા મંગળે કન્યાના દાન અપાય, શોભા.
  7. 7 ત્યાં તો વર્ત્યા છે મંગળ ચાર, શોભા; આપે ગરથ સરિત ભંડાર, શોભા.
  8. 8 લાવે બાણમતિ કંસાર, શોભા; ત્યાં તે પીરસે ચાર વાર શોભા.
  9. 9 ત્યાં તો આરોગે નરનાર, શોભા; કર્યું દૂધડે સ્નાન નિરધાર, શોભા.
  10. 10 ચાર સૌભાગ્યવતી બોલાવે, શોભા; ઓખા સૌભાગ્યવંતી કહેવરાવે, શોભા.
  11. 11 ઓખા અનિરુદ્ધ પરણીને ઊઠ્યાં, શોભા; ત્યાં તો સોનેયૈ મેરુ તુઠ્યા, શોભા ઘણેરી રે.

Translation

બાણાસુર અને તેની પત્ની બાણમતી — જે ઉજ્જ્વળ વર્ણની હતી — ઘણી શોભા સાથે વરરાજા અને વધૂના ચરણ પખાળ્યા. ત્યારે પ્રથમ મંગળ ઊજવાયું, અને પ્રથમ મંગળે સોનાનું દાન અપાયું, જે કૃષ્ણના સંતાન અનિરુદ્ધે ગ્રહણ કર્યું. ત્યારે બીજું મંગળ ઊજવાયું, અને બીજે મંગળે ગાયોનું દાન અપાયું. ત્યારે ત્રીજું મંગળ ઊજવાયું, અને ત્રીજે મંગળે હાથીઓનું દાન અપાયું — તે દાન પણ કૃષ્ણના સંતાને ગ્રહણ કર્યું. ત્યારે ચોથું મંગળ ઊજવાયું, અને ચોથા મંગળે કન્યાદાન — એટલે કે ઓખાનું દાન — અપાયું. આ રીતે ચારેય મંગળ સંપન્ન થયાં, અને બાણાસુરે ધન-સંપત્તિ તથા ભંડારનું ઉદારતાથી દાન આપ્યું. બાણમતી કંસાર — મીઠી ઘઉંની ખીર — લઈ આવી, અને તે ચાર વાર પીરસવામાં આવ્યો; ત્યાં ઉપસ્થિત સ્ત્રી-પુરુષ સૌએ આરોગ્યું. ત્યારબાદ નિશ્ચિતપણે દૂધથી સ્નાન કરાવવામાં આવ્યું. ચાર સૌભાગ્યવતી સ્ત્રીઓ બોલાવવામાં આવી, અને ઓખાને સૌભાગ્યવંતી — સુહાગણ — કહેવડાવવામાં આવી. ઓખા અને અનિરુદ્ધ પરણીને ઊઠ્યાં, અને ત્યારે સોનાના મેરુ પર્વત સમાન ઢગ — અઢળક સોનું — પ્રસન્ન થઈ ઓળઘોળ થઈ ગયા; ચારે બાજુ ઘણી ઘણી શોભા છવાઈ ગઈ.

Banasura and his wife Banamati — fair and radiant in complexion — washed the feet of the bride and groom with great splendour and ceremony. Then the first auspicious rite was observed, and at the first rite, gifts of gold were given, which Krishna's grandson Aniruddha received. Then the second auspicious rite was observed, and at the second rite, gifts of cows were given. Then the third auspicious rite was observed, and at the third rite, gifts of elephants were given — again received by Krishna's descendant. Then the fourth auspicious rite was observed, and at the fourth rite, the gift of the bride herself — the kanyadan of Okha — was made. Thus all four auspicious rites were completed, and Banasura generously gave away wealth, riches, and the contents of his treasury. Banamati brought kansar — a sweet dish of wheat — and it was served four times to all present; the men and women gathered there partook of it joyfully. After this, a ceremonial bath with milk was given without fail. Four auspicious married women were summoned, and Okha was proclaimed a saubhagyavati — a blessed and fortunate bride. Okha and Aniruddha rose together as husband and wife, and at that moment, mountains of gold seemed to melt with joy and overflow in their happiness; the entire scene was filled with extraordinary splendour and glory.

बाणासुर और उनकी पत्नी बाणमती — जो उज्ज्वल वर्ण की थीं — ने बड़ी शोभा के साथ वर और वधू के चरण धोए। तब पहला मंगल कार्य संपन्न हुआ, और पहले मंगल में सोने का दान दिया गया, जिसे कृष्ण के वंशज अनिरुद्ध ने ग्रहण किया। फिर दूसरा मंगल कार्य हुआ, और दूसरे मंगल में गायों का दान दिया गया। तब तीसरा मंगल कार्य संपन्न हुआ, और तीसरे मंगल में हाथियों का दान दिया गया — वह दान भी कृष्ण के वंशज ने ग्रहण किया। फिर चौथा मंगल कार्य हुआ, और चौथे मंगल में कन्यादान — अर्थात् ओखा का दान — संपन्न हुआ। इस प्रकार चारों मंगल कार्य पूरे हुए, और बाणासुर ने उदारतापूर्वक धन-संपत्ति और भंडार का दान किया। बाणमती कंसार — गेहूँ की मीठी खीर — लेकर आईं, और उसे चार बार परोसा गया; वहाँ उपस्थित स्त्री-पुरुष सभी ने प्रेम से भोजन किया। इसके बाद निश्चित रूप से दूध से स्नान कराया गया। चार सौभाग्यवती स्त्रियों को बुलाया गया, और ओखा को सौभाग्यवती — सुहागन — घोषित किया गया। ओखा और अनिरुद्ध विवाह संपन्न कर उठे, और उस क्षण सोने के मेरु पर्वत के समान अपार वैभव प्रसन्न होकर उमड़ पड़ा; चारों ओर अत्यंत शोभा और आनंद छा गया।
