Okha દ્વારા Aniruddha નું જાગરણ Okha Wakes Aniruddha Okha द्वारा Aniruddha को जगाना

Okha impatiently tells Chitralekha to stop objecting and threatens to wake her beloved by pressing his feet. Chitralekha cautions her not to rush, noting that the prince likely keeps weapons nearby. Okha goes to check his pillow and finds a large mace, which she moves aside before gently pressing his feet to rouse him.

  2. 2 ઓખા કહે ચિત્રલેખાને, હવે ન બોલીશ તું આડું; કહે તો મારા પિયુને, પગ ચાંપી જગાડું.
  3. 3 ચિત્રલેખા કહે ઓખાબાઈ, આવડી ઉતાવળી શું થાય; મોટાનો કુંવર કહાવે, કાંઈક હશે હથિયાર.
  4. 4 ઓશિકે જઈ જોવા લાગી, તો મોટી એક ગદાય; ઉપાડીને અળગી કીધી, ઓખા ચાંપે પાય રે.

Translation

સ્ત્રીઓનાં ચરિત્ર અનોખાં હોય છે, એનો મર્મ કોઈ સમજી શકતું નથી — સ્ત્રી ગમે તેવા ડાહ્યા પુરુષને પણ ભોળવી દે અને પોતાનો ધર્મ ભૂલી જાય. ઓખા ચિત્રલેખાને કહે છે, 'હવે આડીઅવળી વાત ન કર, જા અને મારા પ્રિયતમને પગ ચાંપીને જગાડ.' ત્યારે ચિત્રલેખા સમજાવે છે, 'ઓખાબાઈ, આટલી ઉતાવળ શા માટે? એ મોટા ઘરના કુંવર છે, એમની પાસે કોઈ ને કોઈ હથિયાર જરૂર હશે.' ઓખા ઓશીકા પાસે જઈને જુએ છે, તો ત્યાં એક મોટી ભારે ગદા પડી છે; એ ગદાને ઉઠાવીને બાજુ પર મૂકી દે છે અને પછી પ્રેમથી અનિરુદ્ધના પગ ચાંપવા લાગે છે.

Women's ways are mysterious and singular — no one can truly fathom their inner nature; a woman can beguile even the wisest of men and, in doing so, lose sight of her own duty. Okha says to Chitralekha, 'Enough of your roundabout talk — go and wake my beloved by pressing his feet.' Chitralekha cautions her, saying, 'Okha, why such haste? He is the son of a great house; he is sure to have some weapon close at hand.' Okha goes to look near his pillow and finds a large, heavy mace lying there; she lifts it and sets it aside, and then, with tender devotion, begins to gently press Aniruddha's feet to rouse him from his sleep.

स्त्रियों का चरित्र अनोखा होता है, उसका भेद कोई नहीं समझ सकता — स्त्री बड़े-से-बड़े समझदार पुरुष को भी भुला देती है और स्वयं अपना धर्म खो बैठती है। ओखा चित्रलेखा से कहती है, 'अब इधर-उधर की बातें मत कर, जा और मेरे प्रियतम को पैर दबाकर जगा।' चित्रलेखा समझाती है, 'ओखाबाई, इतनी जल्दी क्यों? वे किसी बड़े घर के कुँवर हैं, उनके पास कोई न कोई हथियार ज़रूर होगा।' ओखा तकिए के पास जाकर देखती है तो वहाँ एक बड़ी भारी गदा रखी हुई है; वह उसे उठाकर एक तरफ रख देती है और फिर प्रेमपूर्वक अनिरुद्ध के पैर दबाने लगती है।
