Upon hearing those words, the compassionate Krishna was filled with fury, and Gopal resolved in his heart to sever the arms of Banasura. In his rage he raised his weapon and struck in an instant — Banasura's arms were cut away, and I shall now recount that moment in full. Blood poured from Banasura's body, and his spirit sank into despair; casting his eyes toward Kailasa, he lamented that these arms had been granted to him by Mahadeva himself, and now he could only look to Shiva for hope. At that moment Narada came swiftly to where Banasura's mother dwelt and delivered the news: 'Your son's arms have been severed — what will become of him now?' When Narada brought these tidings, Banasura's mother Kotara heard them and rushed at once to the scene. Devotee Premanand tells this sacred tale — O listeners, hear it with attentive hearts.

ऐसी वाणी सुनते ही दीनदयाल कृष्ण क्रोध से भर उठे और गोपाल ने बाणासुर की भुजाएँ काट देने का निश्चय किया। क्रोध में शस्त्र उठाया और पल भर में प्रहार किया — बाणासुर की भुजाएँ कट गईं, उस घटना का विस्तार अब मैं कहता हूँ। बाणासुर के शरीर से रक्त बहने लगा और उसका मन निराशा में डूब गया; वह कैलाश की ओर दृष्टि लगाकर सोचने लगा कि ये भुजाएँ तो महादेवजी ने दी थीं, अब उन्हीं की ओर देखता हूँ। तभी नारद वहाँ से चलकर सीधे बाणासुर की माता के पास पहुँचे और बोले — 'तुम्हारे पुत्र की भुजाएँ काट दी गई हैं, अब क्या होगा?' — नारद ने यह समाचार सुनाया और सुनते ही बाणासुर की माता कोटरा वहाँ दौड़ पड़ी। भक्त प्रेमानंद यह कथा कहते हैं — हे श्रोताओ, ध्यान से सुनो।
