Okha calls out desperately to her beloved husband, crying, 'O stubborn lord, why this madness? I fall at your feet — please come inside the palace and sit with me. I am ready to bow before Banasura himself and plead with him, but first you must step back. Banasura stands ready with his army, and merely the sight of them fills the heart with dread. This is like trying to swim across the ocean to the far shore — no amount of strength alone can carry you there. These demons will wound your body, for they are cruel and without mercy. I am seized by terrible omens — my right eye twitches, my pearl necklace has snapped, and tears stream from my left eye. The sun looks dim in the sky, the city appears as a desolate wasteland, crows, cows, and dogs cry out in distress — all these are signs of ill fortune. The earth seems to tremble beneath my feet, and the ocean appears blood-red. Countless horsemen have arrived and a great uproar fills every direction. The war drum has sounded, blows are being struck, and that army is charging straight toward you. A force as dense as storm clouds has descended, spear-tips flash and gleam, horses leap forward with bells jingling on their necks, and demon warriors stand armoured in mail and helmets, burning with rage. These are warriors as fierce as Mahakala himself — who now will manage what is to come? O my lord, think carefully in your heart and let this battle go. If you will not heed my words, then I invoke upon you the oath of your own mother and father. Banasura has come like the end of all time, standing beneath a canopy as vast and dark as storm clouds, and his countless horsemen have encircled Aniruddha on every side.'

ओखा अपने प्रिय पति अनिरुद्ध को पुकारते हुए कहती है — 'हे हठीले राणा, यह उन्माद किस लिए? मैं तुम्हारे चरणों में गिरती हूँ, आओ और महल के भीतर बैठो। मैं बाणासुर को प्रणाम करके उससे मिन्नतें करने को तैयार हूँ, पर पहले तुम अंदर आ जाओ। बाण तो अपनी सेना के साथ खड़ा है और उसे देखते ही भय घेर लेता है। यह तो समुद्र के किनारे खड़े होकर उस पार जाने की कोशिश जैसा है — केवल बल से वह तट नहीं पाया जा सकता। ये दैत्य तुम्हारे शरीर को घायल कर देंगे, क्योंकि ये क्रूर और कुपात्र हैं। मुझे बहुत बुरे शकुन हो रहे हैं — मेरी दाहिनी आँख फड़क रही है, मेरा मोतियों का हार टूट गया, बाईं आँख से आँसुओं की धारा बह रही है। आकाश में सूर्य धुंधला दिखता है, नगरी उजड़े जंगल जैसी लगती है, कौए, गाय और कुत्ते रो रहे हैं — ये सब अपशकुन हैं। धरती काँपती-सी लगती है, सागर लहू के रंग का दिखता है। अनगिनत अश्वारोही आ गए हैं और चारों ओर हाहाकार मचा है। नगाड़ा बज उठा है, प्रहार हो रहे हैं और वह सेना तुम पर टूट पड़ी है। बादलों जैसी घनी सेना उमड़ आई है, भालों की नोकें चमक रही हैं, घोड़े घुँघरुओं की झनकार के साथ छलाँगें भरते आ रहे हैं, और दैत्य सैनिक कवच और शिरस्त्राण पहने क्रोध से भरे खड़े हैं। ये तो महाकाल जैसे शूरवीर हैं — अब इस स्थिति में कौन संभाल करेगा? हे नाथ, मन में विचार करके देखो, इस युद्ध को रहने दो। यदि तुम मेरी बात नहीं मानते, तो मैं तुम्हें तुम्हारे माता-पिता की सौगंध देती हूँ। बाण तो प्रलयकाल बनकर आया है, मेघों जैसे घने छत्र के नीचे खड़ा है — और उन अनगिनत अश्वारोहियों ने चारों ओर से घेरा डालकर अनिरुद्ध को अपने बीच में ले लिया है।'
