Okha નો મંત્રી પર ક્રોધ Okha Rebukes the Minister Okha का मंत्री पर क्रोध

Okha furiously scolds the minister Kaubhand for his improper and shameless words, threatening him with death and demanding he speak to her mother first. Kaubhand, shaken by her fierce purity, eventually relents and sends word to Banasura, who orders both Okha and Aniruddha to descend from the upper chamber under royal command.

  8. 8 કૌભાંડ કોપ કરીને ગાજિયો, વગડાવ્યાં નિશાન; માળિયેથી બંને ઉતરો, બાણાસુરની આણ.
  9. 9 એક દાસને આપી આજ્ઞા, સ્તંભ કરોને છેદન; ઓખાએ આંસુ ઢાળિયાં ચંપાશે સ્વામીન. કન્યા.

Translation

ઓખાએ ક્રોધ વ્યક્ત કર્યો અને પ્રધાન કૌભાંડને ધમકાવ્યો — 'અરે લંપટ, બોલતાં શરમ નથી આવતી? ઘડપણમાં પણ અક્કલ ગઈ? પાપી, ક્યાંથી આવ્યો છે આ પ્રાણ લેવા? આવાં ગંદાં વચન બોલે છે, એ માટે તારી જીભ કાપી નાખવી જોઈએ. મેં તને ડાહ્યો દાનવ સમજ્યો હતો, પણ તું તો ભારેખમ કૌભાંડી નીકળ્યો! આવું જૂઠું આળ ચડાવે તો બ્રહ્માંડ પણ ભાંગી પડે. પહેલાં મારી માતને કહેવા દે, પછી તારી વાત — નહીં તો હું તને હત્યા આપીશ અને ચૂપ કરી દઈશ.' ઓખાનાં આ કઠોર વચન સાંભળી કૌભાંડ ધ્રૂજી ઊઠ્યો, કારણ કે આ કન્યા પરમ પવિત્ર હતી; પછી તેણે કાલાવાલા કરવા માંડ્યા, પણ સ્ત્રીના ચારિત્ર્યને ઓળખ્યું નહોતું. ત્યારે સેવકોએ કહ્યું, 'બાઈ, રાજાએ અમને મોકલ્યા છે, લોકોએ વિરોધ ઉઠાવ્યો છે — ઓખાજીને પૂછવા આવ્યા છીએ, આટલો ક્રોધ શા માટે?' એ સાંભળી ઓખાએ એક સેવકને બાણાસુર પાસે મોકલ્યો. રાજા બાણાસુરે મંત્રીને સંદેશો કહાવ્યો: 'જઈને ઉપર ચડો અને મહેલ જુઓ.' ત્યારે કૌભાંડ ક્રોધે ભભૂક્યો, નગારાં વગડાવ્યાં અને ઘોષણા કરી: 'બાણાસુરની આજ્ઞા છે — બંને માળિયેથી નીચે ઊતરો.' એક દાસને આદેશ આપ્યો કે સ્તંભ છેદી નાખો. ઓખાએ આંસુ સાર્યાં — 'હવે મારા સ્વામી ચંપાઈ જશે!'

Okha blazed with fury and rebuked the minister Kaubhanda sharply: 'You shameless libertine, have you no decency in speaking such words? Has old age robbed you of all sense? You sinful wretch, where have you come from to take my life? For uttering such vile words, your tongue deserves to be cut out. I had thought you a wise demon, but you have turned out to be a great scoundrel — to heap such a false accusation on anyone would be enough to shatter the very universe. Let me first speak to my mother, and then we shall deal with your words — otherwise I will bring destruction upon you and silence you forever.' Hearing these fierce words, Kaubhanda began to tremble, for this princess was supremely pure and virtuous; he then resorted to pleading and flattery, having utterly misjudged the character of a woman of her stature. Then the servants spoke up: 'My lady, the king has sent us — the people have raised an outcry — we have come only to inquire of Okha, so why such great anger?' At this, Okha sent a servant to Banasura. King Banasura sent word back to the minister: 'Go up and inspect the palace chambers.' Thereupon Kaubhanda roared in rage, had the war drums beaten, and proclaimed: 'By the command of Banasura — both of you descend from the upper chamber at once.' He ordered a servant to cut down the pillar. Okha wept, her tears flowing freely, crying out that her beloved lord would now be crushed.

ओखा ने क्रोध प्रकट किया और प्रधान कौभांड को कड़ी फटकार लगाई — 'अरे लंपट, ऐसे वचन बोलते हुए शर्म नहीं आती? बुढ़ापे में भी अक्ल नहीं आई? पापी, कहाँ से आया है मेरे प्राण लेने? ऐसे अशुद्ध वचन बोलने के लिए तेरी जीभ काट देनी चाहिए। मैं तुझे बुद्धिमान दानव समझती थी, पर तू तो भारी कौभांडी निकला! ऐसा झूठा कलंक किसी पर भी लगाया जाए तो ब्रह्मांड भी टूट पड़े। पहले मेरी माता को बताने दे, फिर तेरी बात होगी — नहीं तो मैं तुझे दंड दूँगी और चुप करा दूँगी।' ओखा के ये कठोर वचन सुनकर कौभांड काँप उठा, क्योंकि यह कन्या परम पवित्र थी; फिर उसने मिन्नतें और खुशामद करनी शुरू कर दी, पर वह स्त्री के चरित्र को पहचान न सका। तब सेवकों ने कहा, 'बाईजी, राजा ने हमें भेजा है, लोगों ने विरोध उठाया है — हम ओखाजी से पूछने आए हैं, इतना क्रोध क्यों?' यह सुनकर ओखा ने एक सेवक को बाणासुर के पास भेजा। राजा बाणासुर ने मंत्री को संदेश भिजवाया: 'ऊपर चढ़कर महल देखो।' तब कौभांड क्रोध में गरज उठा, नगाड़े बजवाए और घोषणा की: 'बाणासुर की आज्ञा है — दोनों ऊपरी कक्ष से नीचे उतरो।' उसने एक दास को आदेश दिया कि स्तंभ को काट दो। ओखा की आँखों से आँसू बह निकले — अब उसके स्वामी दब जाएँगे!
