અનિરુદ્ધને પીઠી ચઢાવવી Aniruddha Bathed with Turmeric Paste Aniruddha का पीठी उबटन

Parvati is invited to the pre-wedding rituals as Aniruddha, the groom, is bathed and anointed with turmeric paste (pithi). Sacred mountains including Udiyachal, Astachal, Vindhyachal, and Pinachal are summoned to witness the auspicious occasion.

  1. 1 અનિરુદ્ધને સ્નાન - પીઠી ચોળાય છે.
  2. 2 પાર્વતીને પિયરનાં નોતરડાં રે, બેસવા તો રુડાં લાવજો પાથરણાં રે;
  3. 3 તેડાવોને ઉદિયાચળ અસ્તાચળ રે, તેડાવોને વિંધ્યાચળ પીનાચળ રે,
  4. 4 વરરાયને નાવણ વેળા થાય રે, વરરાયને પીઠી ત્યાં ચોળાય રે.

Translation

અનિરુદ્ધને લગ્ન પહેલાં હળદર-પીઠી ચોળવાનો વિધિ શરૂ થાય છે. પાર્વતીને પિયરના ઘરે નોતરાં મોકલવામાં આવે છે — 'આવો, અને બેસવા માટે સુંદર પાથરણાં પાથરો.' ઉદિયાચળ અને અસ્તાચળ — પૂર્વ અને પશ્ચિમના પર્વતોને — તેડાવવામાં આવે છે, વિંધ્યાચળ અને પીનાચળને પણ આમંત્રણ આપવામાં આવે છે, કારણ કે આ મહા-ઉત્સવ છે. વરરાજા અનિરુદ્ધના સ્નાનની વેળા આવી છે, અને ત્યાં ધામધૂમથી તેમને પીઠી ચોળવામાં આવી રહી છે.

The auspicious pre-wedding ceremony begins as Aniruddha is anointed with turmeric paste in preparation for his bath. Invitations are sent to Parvati at her maternal home — 'Come, and bring fine, beautiful spreads to sit upon.' The mountains of the east and west — Udiyachal and Astachal — are summoned to attend, and Vindhyachal and Pinachal are invited as well, for this is a celebration of the grandest kind. The moment has arrived for the bridegroom Aniruddha's ceremonial bath, and with great joy and festivity, the turmeric paste is being lovingly rubbed upon him.

अनिरुद्ध के विवाह से पूर्व हल्दी-पीठी लगाने का शुभ विधि आरंभ होता है। पार्वती को उनके मायके में निमंत्रण भेजा जाता है — 'आइए, और बैठने के लिए सुंदर बिछावन लेकर आइए।' पूर्व और पश्चिम के पर्वत — उदियाचल और अस्ताचल — को भी बुलाया जाता है, और विंध्याचल तथा पीनाचल को भी आमंत्रित किया जाता है, क्योंकि यह उत्सव अत्यंत भव्य और पावन है। वर अनिरुद्ध के स्नान का शुभ समय आ गया है, और वहाँ बड़े उल्लास के साथ उन्हें हल्दी-पीठी लगाई जा रही है।
