Aniruddha

Aniruddha, the grandson of Lord Krishna and son of Pradyumna, stands at the very heart of Premanand's *Okhaharan*, serving as the romantic hero whose fateful union with Usha sets the entire epic narrative in motion. Celebrated for his extraordinary beauty and valor, Aniruddha is spirited away in the night to the city of Shonitpur by the lovesick princess Usha, aided by her magical companion Chitralekha. His presence in the story is at once tender and heroic — a young prince caught between the enchantment of newfound love and the violent consequences that love will unleash.

When Banasura, Usha's formidable father and a devoted servant of Shiva, discovers the intruder within his palace, Aniruddha is captured and imprisoned, triggering a cosmic confrontation that draws Krishna, Balarama, and the entire Yadava clan into battle against Banasura's armies and even against Shiva himself. Premanand portrays Aniruddha with characteristic warmth and poetic grace, making him not merely a passive object of Usha's desire but a spirited young warrior whose dignity and courage shine throughout the unfolding drama.
